Three New Drivers!

Shinn, Slinker, and Duncan celebrate a successful day.

The Sprite Midget Challenges offers our hearty congratulations and warm welcome to new drivers Owen Duncan, Randy Slinker, and Nolan Shinn who successfully completed the IRDC driver training at Pacific Raceways on May 15.

Slinker and Shinn drove their Tesla and Celica street cars, respectively, while Duncan drove the newly restored #70 “Arnold” Bugeye Sprite.

Driver Slinker drove seven hours one-way to complete his training in his Tesla.
Driver Shinn leveraged his front-wheel drive Celica in wet conditions to run some great laps.

The drivers persevered through weather that felt more like late March than mid-April, with only one dry-track session of five. Temps in the 40s and hard rain were the order of the day, and all three drivers handled the challenging conditions with aplomb.

Shinn, Slinker, and Duncan expect to become part of the wheel to wheel racing action of SOVREN and the Sprite-Midget Challenge later this season.
